Quiet Table Guide: June 22-28
Scripture for the week: Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
1. Ready Your Heart
Begin with a moment of silence or a short prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me stay open to what You want to show me today. Make me curious about Your work in and around me.
2. Read
Read Matthew 7:7-8 slowly and prayerfully.
You might try reading it aloud, or in different translations throughout the week.
Let the Spirit highlight the word or phrase you most need to hear today.
3. Reflect
What word or phrase stands out to you?
Where are you longing for more certainty?
Where might God be inviting you to stay curious — to ask, seek, or knock?
What does curiosity look like in your life right now?
4. Respond
Ask God: Where do I need to ask, seek, or knock today?
What question do I need to ask?
Where do I need to look for Your presence?
What step of faith do I need to take?
Pray for courage to stay open to the Spirit’s leading.
5. Receive
Be still.
Let go of the need to have all the answers.
Rest in God’s love—the kind of love that welcomes your questions and meets you in your seeking.
Let Him form you into someone who asks, seeks, knocks—and follows.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICE FOR THE WEEK: Ask, Seek, Knock
This week’s practice invites you to cultivate curiosity in your life with Jesus.
Each morning, take a few moments of quiet and pray through these three questions:
1. Ask: “Lord, what do You want to show me today?”
2. Seek: “Lord, where are You at work around me today?”
3. Knock: “Lord, what step of faith are You inviting me to take today?”
Stay curious throughout the day about how God might answer.
At the end of the day, jot down what you’re noticing:
• What did God show you?
• Where did you see His hand at work?
• What step of faith did you take?
When you meet with others, share two things:
• What is God saying to you?
• What are you doing about it?
