Quiet Table Guide: March 15-21

Scripture for the week: Philippians 2:5–11

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1. Ready Your Heart

Begin with a moment of silence or a short prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide your time together.

2. Read

Slowly read this week’s passage. (Consider reading it out loud or in a different translation each day.)

3. Reflect

What word, phrase, or image stands out to you today? What in your life might the Holy Spirit be drawing your attention to?

4. Respond

How can you allow this word to shape your interactions, decisions, or perspective today?

5. Receive

Spend a few moments in stillness, surrendering your thoughts, plans, and actions to God and resting in the presence of Jesus.

6. Practice: Releasing Your Grasp

If you struggle to receive help, ask for something small this week that you would normally handle alone. Let someone carry something for you.

If you feel the sting of being overlooked, bring that specific wound to Jesus. Name it plainly. Then ask: what would it look like to release it?

If you notice resentment when someone else is recognized, practice one act of genuine, unprompted celebration of that person this week — a word, a message, a prayer.

If your identity is wrapped up in what you've rejected or refused, ask: what am I grasping by not grasping? What is the more respectable thing I'm still holding?
