Quiet Table Guide: Sept 27-Oct 3

Scripture for the week: Acts 17:10-12

‭‭1. Ready Your Heart

Begin with a moment of silence or a short prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide your time together.

2. Read

Slowly read this week’s passage. (Consider reading it out loud or in a different translation each day.)

3. Reflect

What word, phrase, or image stands out to you today? What in your life might the Holy Spirit be drawing your attention to?

4. Respond

How can you allow this word to shape your interactions, decisions, or perspective today?

5. Receive

Spend a few moments in stillness, surrendering your thoughts, plans, and actions to God and resting in the presence of Jesus.

6. Practice: Come to the Table

This week, practice the two things that made the Bereans noble: eagerness and examining.

Each day, after you read Acts 17:10–12, ask one simple question:

What in this passage do I want to understand better?Write it down. It can be a word you don't understand, a line that surprised you, or something that doesn't quite make sense yet. That is the whole practice. One question a day.

The Bereans didn't sit over the word as judges. They sat under it, eager to see if what they heard was true. Your questions aren't a sign of weak faith. They're a sign that you're taking God's word seriously.

Then, bring your questions to the table. Every Wednesday at 6pm, the doors are open downstairs at Midweek. Pick the one question you most want to talk about and bring it with you. If you're in a Table Group, bring it there.

Something happens when we open the Scriptures together that doesn't happen when we read alone. Someone across the table will see what you missed, and you'll see what they missed. That's how the word took root in Berea.

You bring the question. The Spirit brings the understanding.

Start today.
