Quiet Table Guide: Sept 20-26
Scripture for the week: Acts 17:6-7
These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here, and Jason has welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar's decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus.
1. Ready Your Heart
Begin with a moment of silence or a short prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide your time together.
2. Read
Slowly read this week’s passage. (Consider reading it out loud or in a different translation each day.)
3. Reflect
What word, phrase, or image stands out to you today? What in your life might the Holy Spirit be drawing your attention to?
4. Respond
How can you allow this word to shape your interactions, decisions, or perspective today?
5. Receive
Spend a few moments in stillness, surrendering your thoughts, plans, and actions to God and resting in the presence of Jesus.
6. Practice: Patrol, Present, Proclaim
Patrol. Each day, ask honestly: where am I most afraid? Where does shame thrive? Where am I gripping the controls? Where has hope gone quiet? Don't rush past the answer. Just notice it.
Present it to the King. Whatever you find, bring it to Jesus in prayer, out loud if you can. Name it plainly: this is where the rebellion is rising. This is where I've assumed the throne. This is where I'm under attack.
Proclaim the gospel over it. Speak the announcement directly into that province. Over my marriage, Jesus is Lord. Over my fear, Jesus is Lord. Over my failure, Jesus is Lord. Over my child, Jesus is Lord. Over my body, Jesus is Lord.
At the end of the week, reflect: What is true cosmically, that Jesus reigns, did I make true personally this week, in an actual province of my life?
