Quiet Table Guide: July 19-25

Scripture for the week: Acts 13:1-12

While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. — Acts 13:2

‭‭1. Ready Your Heart

Begin with a moment of silence or a short prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide your time together.

2. Read

Slowly read this week’s passage. (Consider reading it out loud or in a different translation each day.)

3. Reflect

What word, phrase, or image stands out to you today? What in your life might the Holy Spirit be drawing your attention to?

4. Respond

How can you allow this word to shape your interactions, decisions, or perspective today?

5. Receive

Spend a few moments in stillness, surrendering your thoughts, plans, and actions to God and resting in the presence of Jesus.

6. Practice: Who, What, When

The church at Antioch didn’t hear from the Spirit on a dramatic day. They heard from him in the middle of an ordinary rhythm, worship, prayer, and fasting, held together in community.

This week, take three small steps toward that same kind of rhythm. Not a program. Just three questions.

Who will you practice with this week? Don’t do this alone. Ask a spouse, a friend, or someone from your small group to join you, even in something small.

What single practice will you actually commit to? Choose one: worship, prayer, or fasting. Not all three. One, held with some consistency, is worth more than three you can’t sustain.

When will you practice it? Attach it to something you already do. A coffee before work. A commute to the job site or the boat. Let that borrowed time become the place you show up.

Write down your answers to these three questions before the day is over.

Who.

What.

When.

That’s enough to start. You already belong to Jesus. This isn’t about earning anything further from him. It’s about giving him something you may not have given him yet, not your life again, but your days.
